BCoT, on the last Wednesday of the month, take their meetings to different venues around Beverley. May's meeting was hosted by Beverley Golf Club.
The BCoT recognises that hosting a networking event is a prime opportunity for a venue to impress guests and turn first-time visitors into loyal clients. To get the most from the occasion, the venue should ensure its facilities are inviting, encourage conversation and flow. The Golf Club did just that in abundance.
The night started with a bit of an ice breaker with the new Head Pro Theo inviting guests to participate in a nearest the pin challenge to showcase the Golf Studio.
Theo commented, "The golf studio is a great all year round facility, we can do demo sessions, like tonight, offer personalised swing analysis, and interactive tutorials. With realistic simulations and instant feedback. The year-round training opportunities it gives is a benefit to players of all levels.
The big prize went to the man who held his nerve under pressure Michael Menzies Baird winning the Nearest The Pin bottle of wine. Not a surprise given his background. Need to learn more, set up a meeting with him!
In the Club House, BCoT Chair Shaun Dart went over recent events: the success of the BCoT 75th Anniversary party; local meetings and collaborations with the Beverley Town Council; and future events.
The new Mayor of Beverley Alison Healy said a few words about working together for a better future. Then Shaun introduced Spencer Barnbrook, the new Steward who is now looking after the hospitality of the Golf Club.
Spencer welcomed everyone and said, "We want to create a welcoming environment, so we are undergoing a number of changes to the restaurant and bar area, we welcome all, not just the Golf Members, and we aim through our menu and food offering to encourage people to come in throughout the day and early evening. 7 days a week."
Spencer and his team presented a great selection of food, showcasing what they can deliver, offering a curated selection of canapés, desserts, salads and fruits, with great attention to detail.
The Staff were attentive and professional, reinforcing the venue’s commitment to exceptional service. For those who were first time visitors and previous guests the Golf club left a lasting impression on BCoT members.
BCoT through its membership demonstrates how networking events are more than gathering, they’re marketing in motion.
