Beverley Chamber Meeting at ert Highlights

Location: East Riding Theatre

The recent Beverley Chamber meeting held at the East Riding Theatre was a notable occasion.

Chair Shaun Dart welcomed attendees and highlighted two significant events: the Chamber's 75th anniversary celebrations at the Ferguson Fawsitt and the 80th celebrations of VE Day to VJ Day in Beverley; then introduced two guest speakers: Richard Avery, the director of The One Good Thing (shortly to have its World Premiere at ert) and James Cunningham from Navigation Wealth.

We celebrate 75 years of the Beverley and District Chamber of Trade at The Ferguson Fawsitt in Walkington on Friday 9th May, 7pm – midnight.

Following his introduction, Richard Avery took the floor to discuss the upcoming world premiere of The One Good Thing, which he is directing. Richard shared insights into how this exciting project came to fruition. Joe Bravaco, a New Jersey playwright, submitted his play ‘The One Good Thing’ to PlayLab last year. After competing with over 200 submissions, it was shortlisted and showcased in a script-in-hand workshop format over three days. Due to its positive reception, ERT has secured the rights to perform a full version as part of their Spring Production, marking it as the 'World Premiere' of this professional performance.

The meeting also featured a compelling talk on pensions by James Cunningham from Navigation Wealth, providing valuable information for all attendees.

The evening concluded with an opportunity for networking and drinks, allowing members to connect and discuss ideas.

We look forward to future meetings and events that will continue to foster engagement and collaboration.
