The Beverley Chamber of Trade held their AGM at the ERT, on the 31st January 2024. It was the end of an era and the start of a new chapter for the Chamber of Trade.
After 12 years as Chairman Julian Minshall stepped down and Karl Douglas stepped in as the new Chairman. Karl’s first task was to hand a card of Thank you and a voucher for his service to the Chamber over the years.
Julian Commented, “It is unusual for me to be stuck for words, Thank you for all the help and support everyone has given me over the years, I know the Chamber will be in safe hands with Karl at the helm. Thank you for the voucher it is very much appreciated”.
Karl said, “I would like to thank Julian for all the hard work he has put in over the years and I look forward to building on the firm foundations Julian has put in place for the Chamber”.
The handover of the chairman’s role at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a critical moment, it symbolised the continuity and effective within the Chamber. It ensures a smooth transition of leadership, maintaining stability and building confidence among the members.
Karl Douglas, the incoming chairman will guide the Chamber and set a new strategic direction and put in place new procedures for the members, with a new committee set new guidelines to benefit and increase membership involvement.
Through a transparent and accountability transition the new Chairman will look to maintain and build on the success and sustainability of the Beverley Chamber of Trade.
Karl handed over to Ben Gardiner to go through the draft of the new website to go live in the coming weeks, Ben took on board the comments for implementation.
The next meeting will be on the last Wednesday of the Month Wednesday 28th February, at The King’s Head.
